Swords opens    first Memory    Cafe

Located in the heart of Swords, CareChoice has just celebrated its 3^rd birthday.

Accommodating up to 158 residents, the nursing home is situated in the heart of Swords, just down the road from Swords Castle. Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic fading into the rearview mirror of history, the opportunity to establish CareChoice’s vision of building a vibrant community of individuals is prominent on the agenda.

In 2022, CareChoice held it’s very first community open day, opening its doors to the wider community and inviting Swords into the home for the first time in 2 and a half years and the residents and their families couldn’t have been happier. Belonging and a strong sense of purpose is imbedded into the CareChoice ethos, and next on the agenda is building a dementia inclusive community in Swords in collaboration with the Fingallians GAA Club.

The Swords Memory Café hosted at the Fingallians GAA Club, opened its doors in December, and it has been a very welcome community initiative gaining huge support from the wider community.
The café is held on the 3^rd Thursday of every month, between 10.30am – 12.30pm and all are welcome to support fostering a dementia inclusive community in Swords.
