Food and Fun @ The Ardmore

We employ a dedicated activities team that strives to keep our residents hobbies and interests alive. Outings are organised at regular intervals to areas of local interest such as the Botancial Gardens, the Zoo and Howth Harbour.

Scheduled activities are available in the home morning and afternoon, 7 days a week. The weekly activity programme includes regular activities such as: Mass, newspaper reviews, pamper days, ball games, baking, movies, arts and crafts, sonas sessions, music and singing, bingo, and coffee mornings;  as well as phone calls and in person visits with friends and family.

Our residents have a committee that meets regularly to discuss topics such activities they would like, places they would like to visit and any other things that interest them. We believe that if residents take part in meaningful activities, maintains and develops their personal identity, whilst getting the right help for any health conditions, this can improve and maintain their own wellbeing.

We know all our residents are individuals, they have families, friends, opinions, and many diverse hobbies. We want our residents to enjoy the things that are important to them and cherish the pieces that make them unique. We like to try to go the extra mile to make our residents comfortable, have fun, get involved and generally enjoy the experience of our Home.

Meals are freshly prepared daily and menus are set in consultation with the residents.

In general an assessment is done pre-admission by the Director of Nursing or the Assistant Director of Nursing and menu is tailored to each individual's needs.
