Everyday life in our nursing home is shaped by the individuals who live here.

We focus on creating a calm, supportive environment where each person can follow their own pace and preferences, with the right care always available when needed.

There is structure when it helps, flexibility when it matters, and respect at the heart of everything we do. From morning to night, our aim is simple: to support a day that feels familiar, comfortable, and meaningful — just as it should.

Here is what a typical day looks like:

There is no loud wake-up call here. Residents get up when they are ready, with support for personal care if needed. Breakfast is served in the dining room or in-room — their choice. Medications and health checks are done calmly, never rushed. Mornings are often unhurried: reading the paper, listening to music, or stretching in a chair. It is about starting the day in a way that feels natural.

Lunch is freshly prepared, with choices that respect each resident’s dietary needs and personal preferences. We encourage residents to dine together if they wish, but participation in group activities is always entirely their choice.

After lunch, residents can rest, relax, or take a stroll in the garden when the weather is pleasant. Some prefer a nap, while others enjoy quiet time or a friendly chat.

Activities are offered, not imposed. Crafts, music, a board game, or a reminiscence group — or simply sitting with a book or watching the birds outside. Family visits are always welcome, and a cup of tea or coffee in the afternoon gives everyone a chance to pause and connect.

Tea is a lighter meal, followed by relaxed time. Staff help with evening routines, focusing on comfort and dignity. We aim for calm, not a hurried schedule.

Through the night, we are there — quietly checking in, providing help when needed, making sure residents feel safe without disturbing their rest.
Our ethos is simple: people first. We work around residents’ lives, not the other way around. This is not just about care; it is about living each day with purpose, respect, and humanity.

A Typical Day in CareChoice Trim

My name is Joan. I am 74 years young. I am from Navan originally and I came to live in Carechoice Trim on 21st of November 2012.

I usually get up around 9 am, I use my call bell when I decide I would like to get up, sometimes I like a lie in but I’m usually up at that time. Two carers come to help me get ready for the day, then I go to the dining room for my breakfast. Lately I have been having tea with no sugar, I’m sweet enough. Toast slightly burnt is the way I like it, real butter, and marmalade. I could ask for a fry-up if I wanted one and the chefs would make it for me, sometimes I like one.
